Acting Workshop
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CIVICA SCUOLA DI TEATRO PAOLO GRASSI
Playing is a natural activity: we do it massively when we are children and then we tend to forget it a little, too busy with our busy lives!
In English, French and German the act of making theatre and music is to play, jouer, spielen. The connection between life and Theatre is out there for everybody to discover and explore.
In Theatre we with play with our bodies, our voices our imagination, bringing together a new, fresh energy: the energy of creativity. Step by step we can discover the power of making Theatre together and the multiple skills playing involves.
This year's edition:
The audience decides – a stand-up comedy experience
This project brings together a large group of actors to create a unique theater experience. It starts with exploring modern themes to develop characters and scripts that reflect the students' community. The performance will begin with a boring scripted scene, soon to be interrupted by another student whom will change the direction of the show. The audience will become involved letting them choose themes for the actors to perform (everything will be carefully planned in advance, but they won’t know).
Through fun theater games and improvisation, students will learn to bring their characters to life using body and voice. Weekly rehearsals and independent practice will prepare them for the final performance, giving them a real theater company experience.
The main goal of the workshop is to stage a part of a real show, shortly working on a text. It will be worked on different texts proposed by the students or selected from a list suggested by the teachers. There will be also the possibility to write a short monologue or dialogue.
