The Erasmus+ scholarship is not paid on a monthly-basis, but in two scheduled moments:

1. First payment, upon the student's physical arrival in the country of destination and after submitting the Certificate of Arrival, signed by the host school.

2. Final payment, after the mobility ends, upon submission of the Certificate of Departure, signed by the host university, and of the EU Survey. Please remember that the final payment is calculated according to the actual semester dates confirmed by your host university, compared with the dates indicated on the Mobility Agreement, and upon availability of Erasmus+ funding*.

*IMPORTANT NOTICE Grants are assigned to students only upon availability of Erasmus+ funding from the Italian Erasmus+ National Agency who has exclusive responsibility over the grants funded to Bocconi University. Consequently, Bocconi University cannot guarantee the timing of payments nor the covering of all the months spent abroad. The Italian Erasmus+ National Agency, together with the other European national agencies, regularly checks and compares information on scholarship recipients. In case you are not entitled to the scholarship, you will need to refund it.

A travel contribution is provided, which varies according to the distance band calculated using the “Distance Calculator” made available by the European Commission that you can find in the official website of the European Union here. For the calculation of the distance band, the place of departure is considered to be the city of Milan and the place of destination is the city where the host University has its registered office.
A Green Travel top-up is available if the round trip is made using sustainable means of transport (train, bus, car sharing, bicycle). The amounts corresponding to each distance band are shown in the table below:

  • Additionally, students with specific needs related to physical, mental, or health conditions may apply, through the University, to the Erasmus+ National Agency for an additional grant to reimburse documented expenses (actual costs), if the monthly top-up (€250 per month) is not sufficient to cover them.
