Learning Needs
Support for students with learning disorders
Learning disorders are a reality for many university students who will one day become accomplished and skilled professionals. While having dyslexia or dyscalculia is by no means an impediment to academic or professional success, the presence of these neuro-differences requires extra care when studying. It may be necessary to develop a strategic study method tailored to meet students’ specific needs while at the same time optimizing their areas of strength.
Bocconi University is offering a dedicated Learning Needs Help Desk for all students with academic needs. In addition a peer-to-peer student tutoring program is offered to students with learning disorders.
Learning Needs Help Desk
The Learning Needs Help Desk service is designed to offer each student with learning needs the chance to receive
specialized counseling customized to their own situation.
The desk will offer students with learning needs an opportunity to learn more about the way their brain works, become fully aware of their cognitive resources, and receive hands-on tips on how to optimize their study methods given their unique situation and needs.
The service is available in Italian and in English by appointment, in person or online, every Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., from September 1, 2025, to December 22, 2025.
To make an appointment, please email learningneeds.hd@unibocconi.it.
Individual interviews are conducted by Dr. Milena Milani, an educational psychologist and member of the British Dyslexia Association, and Suzanna Sanz Vicente, a neuropsychologist experienced in cognitive rehabilitation and stimulation treatments.
Peer to Peer Tutoring project
Through this project SpLd students will have the opportunity to receive peer support from Italian and international student volunteers who have received a specific training on LD topics.
All phases of the project will be coordinated by Dr Milena Milani, educational psychologist and member of the British Dyslexia Association
