Welcome to Bocconi
Six thousand students, including freshmen from the three Bocconi schools and incoming exchange students (over 1,000 for this first semester of 2023/24) from the 280 partner schools are these days beginning their experience at Bocconi. One in 4 of those enrolled, after passing the selection process (over 18,000 applications for admission, 40% of which from non-Italian students), will receive a scholarship or tuition exemption (in total, over 40 million euros in student benefits are allocated each year on the basis of income and merit). And always 1 in 4 is the ratio of international students from one of the more than 80 countries that make Bocconi an open and multicultural institution.
"We make a promise to all freshmen: your years at Bocconi will help you become future-proof people, ready to make an important contribution wherever you go. Never be afraid to dare, but also never be afraid to fail: only in this way will you grow as aware, open-minded individuals capable of positively impacting society," is the wish of Francesco Billari, Rector of the University.
In order to welcome the new students, a busy calendar of meetings has been organised, featuring, in addition to the Rector, school Deans, degree course directors, staff and student associations together with YesMilano (the Milan Chamber of Commerce's agency for the internationalisation of students). The aim is to make known all the opportunities and services that will accompany each student along his or her university path. But there will also be plenty of opportunities to get to know one's fellow students or the city of Milan (the Welcome Day program for enrolled students can be found at this link and the program for incoming students here): because university life is not just about lectures, study and exams.
