From student to student: how to approach the Law degree

, by Barbara Orlando
Advice from secondyear student Amira Alizo

ORGANIZE YOUR STUDYING RIGHT AWAY
It's crucial to maintain a consistent routine right away to achieve academic success. It may seem hard at first but creating a detailed study schedule that includes the topics to cover, exam deadlines and assignments will help you avoid being overwhelmed by a massive workload just before exams. However remember to include breaks to enhance concentration and prevent fatigue. Always remember to maintain a healthy balance between study and social life. Be flexible and adapt your study schedule to your needs, but maintain the commitment and discipline needed to achieve your academic goals.

MAKE USE OF UNIVERSITY SPACES
Bocconi offers a wide range of study spaces, such as the library, study rooms and common areas. Explore these options: find the place that suits you and inspires you the most. Experiment different environments to discover which one helps you focus the most. Some may prefer the quiet and peaceful environment of libraries, while others may find more stimulating to work in group in a common area. Don't forget to make the most of the resources provided by the university, such as books and study materials.

FIND YOUR CLUB AND DIVE INTO NEW FRIENDSHIPS
Last but not least university life will present you with many excellent opportunities to make new friends and connect with people who share your interests. Try to form from the beginning a study group with motivated and dedicated classmates, so you can support each other in studying and sharing knowledge. This can help you discuss ideas, resolve any doubts and also understand certain topics. Participating in association activities allows you to expand your network, meet many people with a diverse background, different interests and develop collaboration and leadership skills. Engaging with students that are older than you can be beneficial both academically and personally, confronting yourself with people that shared the same experiences as you exposes you to new perspectives, provides career guidance and promotes personal growth. These connections can lead to long lasting friendships and support throughout your academic journey. Association also offer personal enrichment opportunities such as events, projects and conferences related to your personal interests. Find a way to challenge yourself and make the most of your university experience!
