A World of Sports at Bocconi

, by Davide Ripamonti
Athletics on campus, both at amateur and competitive levels, cover an increasingly wide range of sports. Between 15 and 17 September, students can find out more about sports on campus during Welcome Days

If you want to do sports to have fun and meet new people, to stay in shape, or take part in university and federal championships, Bocconi offers a wide range of activities that are part of its sports association, the Bocconi Sport Team. 5-a-side and 11-a-side soccer, men's and women's basketball, boxing, golf, horseback riding, judo, lacrosse, mountaineering and hiking, rowing, rugby, sailing, skiing and snowboarding, squash, swimming and water polo, tennis, track and field and men's and women's volleyball are played at amateur, competitive and university levels with participation in national and international tournaments and championships.

The Bocconi Sport Team also organizes events on campus, such as the Bocconi Run, the Bocconi Tennis Tournament, Bocconi Sport Days, and others off campus, including events dedicated to sailing, skiing and hiking.

"Bocconi University believes that taking part in sports plays an important role in student growth," says Stefano Zorzoli, Professor of Financial Markets and Institutions and President of the Bocconi Sport Team. "As a true complement to learning and studying, the University strongly encourages students to play sports, because it allows them to maintain an active, prepared and flexible mind and body."

Supervisors of the sports association will be available at a Sport Corner during Welcome Days to provide more information about these opportunities and to welcome new athletes as the season kicks off. Located in front of the Piazza Sraffa 13 building, the Corner will be set up on 15, 16 and 17 September, from 10am to 5pm.
