Summer 2015 with Campus Abroad

, by Susanna Della Vedova
276 students met at the airport on 5 July to reach one of the 9 international universities in the Bocconi program. Check out will be on 25 July, after completing a course abroad

Check in on Sunday 5 July and departure. Destination: top schools in the Americas or Asia, where 276 students will be hosted until 25 July, including 126 Bachelor of Science students, 126 Master of Science students and 24 Law students.

Washington, Chicago, Vancouver and Shanghai (for the Bachelor of Science programs), Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore (for the Master of Science and Law programs), these are the cities where local campuses hosted the participants. They attended lectures held by Bocconi faculty members, took part in conferences with international speakers and went on company visits (at Hyundai, RCS China, Delta Partners, World Bank and Maserati, just to give a few examples), organized to complement the educational schedule and to prepare students for the final exam.

Lots of different courses are being offered during the 2015 edition of Campus Abroad, from Diversity Management and Policy, with Professor Paola Profeta at the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, to the course in Corporate Banking held by Professor Manuela Geranio for the Bocconians who chose Northwestern University in Chicago. The course Global Sustainability is being taught by Professor Nicola Misani for students traveling to Fudan University in Shanghai, and Structured and Project Finance is for those in Singapore at the National University with the two faculty member Stefano Gatti and Stefano Zorzoli. A total of nine courses, at nine universities, in nine cities are available.

The Via Sarfatti University started the Campus Abroad program with the aim of taking advantage of the times during the year – in the summer and in the winter – when lectures and exams are not being held. Students have the chance to take an exam and experience a short but intense study abroad program.

In addition to study, participation in a Campus Abroad program allows students to enhance their background by learning about customs and traditions that are different from their own, while respecting an increasingly international culture.
