MBA Competition: Twelve Possible Internships at Porsche Consulting

, by Susanna Della Vedova, translated by Jenna Walker
Corporate digitalization was the topic of the competition launched by the SDA Bocconi FullTime MBA Career Service and Porsche Consulting, with team winners The White and Potenza

The two teams that won the competition launched by the Career Service of the SDA Bocconi Bocconi School of Management Full-Time MBA and Porsche Consulting were The White and Potenza, with excellent projects related to the topic of corporate digitalization. The winners will receive the chance to participate in an internship at the consulting firm that is part of the German car company of the same name, in addition to visiting the Porsche headquarters in Germany (Zuffenhausen), where they can see the concepts of corporate digitalization applied to Porsche.

The competition involved 30 students who are currently attending the 41st edition of the Full-Time MBA, a program at the Milanese business school that is held entirely in English. In addition to time in the classroom, the program includes lectures by representatives of the business world, internships and group projects.
During month-long competition, students were supported by engineers from the consulting company who explained and taught participants their analysis and problem solving methods.

"This project aims to train the managers of tomorrow, who will be leading players in the industrial revolution 4.0," said Giovanni Notarnicola, Principal at Porsche Consulting, who leads a specialized team in the digitalization processes of Italian companies. "Regarding this topic, which is very current, students learned about the experiences that Porsche Consulting has gathered both in house and at third parties, giving them the opportunity to witness the German management model, to apply to real cases."

"This interesting competition is the result of a collaboration between the company, the SDA Bocconi Career Service and MBA students themselves," said Stefano Gatti, who has been Director of Full-Time MBA since 2015. "It is in part through projects such as these that our candidates have the opportunity to compete with real business challenges and test their skills, receiving feedback from the company in real time."

"Through this competition, students improve their comprehension of future needs of the job market, inspired by the German dual training model," said Josef Nierling "We worked closely with them, aiming to teach the skills that the market is increasingly requesting, the ways in which employer expectations vary and the criteria required to undertake a successful career. It also allowed us to identify potential candidates to place in our organization."
