, by Ezio Renda
The Bocconi professor joins the board of the economic journal for a three-year term

Mariano Massimiliano Croce, professor of Finance at Bocconi University and director of the PhD in Economics and Finance, has been appointed to the editorial board of the American Economic Review (AER), one of the most influential academic journals in the field of economics. The appointment will be effective from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028.

Croce is internationally recognized for his research on asset pricing in general equilibrium models, with a focus on uncertainty about the long-run economic outlook ("growth news shocks"). His studies also explore international asset prices, exchange rates, the interactions between investment, wealth and global welfare, and the implications of fiscal policies on economic growth.

The American Economic Review, founded in 1911, is considered one of the “top five” journals in international economic academia. The journal is edited by the American Economic Association, an organization established in 1885 that promotes research and the dissemination of economic knowledge through publications, conferences, and educational initiatives.
