Capgemini Italy and SDA Bocconi to Train New Professionals in Digital Transformation

, by Andrea Celauro
The first initiative will be dedicated to 40 young graduates in the STEM disciplines

The Digital Futures Academy has been launched today by SDA Bocconi School of Management and Capgemini in Italy, with the aim of training new digital talents, professionals and managers, giving them the necessary skills to apply new technologies to business and to the specificities of different industries. These new talents and profiles will integrate technological skills and business knowledge to support companies in the path of digital transformation and through new business models.

Companies, in fact, increasingly need talents specialized in digital technologies who also have the ability to design the Business Transformation in an integrated way. It is with this awareness that SDA Bocconi School of Management and Capgemini have decided to launch the Digital Futures Academy and to dedicate it, with separate initiatives, to different targets: not only young graduates, but also experienced professionals, and managers throughout an entire company, through continuous learning activities. Director of the Academy will be Severino Meregalli, Associate Professor of Practice of Information Systems at SDA Bocconi.

"The Digital Futures Academy is at the same time an initiative of training and reskilling of digital expertise as well as an employability project," explains Giuseppe Soda, Dean of SDA Bocconi. "The projects for the digital transition and the solid investments foreseen at European level by the Next Generation EU fund and at Italian level by the PNRR, need to be well implemented by adequately trained people. Digital skills, besides being vertical for some professions, are now a transversal competence indispensable to anyone in a working context. Working with Capgemini on this project means offering the country a solid platform for the development of these skills."

The first initiative, totally free of charge and entitled "The Future of Enterprise Management", will start on November 22nd and is aimed to young talents not only from Italy but also from abroad. It will involve 40 recent graduates in STEM disciplines who will have access to a three-week targeted training program in English held by SDA Bocconi lecturers, Capgemini experts and industry professionals. This initiative will allow all 40 young talents to lay the foundations to start their own career path in the world of consulting, innovation and digital transformation also with the possibility to join Capgemini once the course will be ended.

"In order to manage the current context more effectively, it is necessary to have a heterogeneous background of knowledge, so as to reason and act beyond traditional schemes," adds Andrea Falleni, Managing Director of Capgemini in Italy. "The Digital Futures Academy combines the expertise of SDA Bocconi and Capgemini to train professionals able, on the one hand, to understand the potential that technology is able to generate and, on the other, to support our clients in the path of digital transformation. The talents involved in the different initiatives will acquire vertical skills in terms of Enterprise Management and new Application Architectures, Cloud, Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Customer Experience Innovation. They will also learn a systematic approach to the continuous research of the evolution of the technologies enabling innovation. We strongly believe in this synergy with SDA Bocconi: together we can train the talents that today are needed to drive the Italian business system and Public Sector towards a real digital transition."
