SDA Bocconi Enters FT Top 3 Worldwide with Its MBA

, by Tomaso Eridani
The program takes the podium in the Financial Times ranking. Return on investment, attention to sustainability and quality of teaching are the factors behind this uptick

Return on investment and attention to sustainability propel SDA Bocconi's MBA to third place worldwide in the Financial Times ranking, sharing the podium, tied with Columbia Business School, with Wharton and Insead, in first and second place respectively. Attention to diversity, both cultural and gender, and sustainability are two other indicators that reward the program of Bocconi's School of Management, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

With 74% of students coming from over 30 countries and professors from all over the world, participants can experience the best of Italy in Milan in a highly international and sustainability-conscious context, as demonstrated by the top position in the ranking for the Carbon Footprint indicator, which is based on the goals the schools have set for themselves to achieve CO2 neutrality.

"SDA Bocconi's keyword is growth - of people, organisations and society," says Stefano Caselli, Dean of SDA Bocconi. "The MBA is the school's flagship program, designed to address an increasingly challenging environment by evolving students' skills and personal goals. Our professors help participants to read and govern the transitions our society is experiencing. Today, to make an impact in organisations we need to understand what actually generates economic and social value, studying the complex links from sustainability to demographics, digital and political dimensions"

"Our program is recognised as a game-changer in the careers of its graduates," comments Stefano Pogutz, MBA Director as well as sustainability expert. "90 per cent have changed at least country, sector or function". This is demonstrated by the numbers that tell of an increase in salary three years after graduation, compared to the pre-MBA salary, of + 125%. "But what is growing is first and foremost the social impact of those who attend our program, which is designed to offer a comprehensive view of business organisations, with a strong focus on digital, sustainability and the macroeconomic context".

The 49th edition is currently underway. Applications for admission for the 24/25 academic year close on April 15, with 32 scholarships available for those admitted.
