The B4DPA 2019 Heats Up: The Seven Finalists Have Been Chosen

, by Andrea Celauro, translated by Richard Greenslade
Bocconi has announced the groups that will enter the second round of the competition. The deadline for delivery of the final project is 28 February

Abilmente, Block Waste, Eye-Scan, FiscalAngel, Paride, Teresa, Vemini Biometric Systems. These are the seven projects that will compete in the final phase of the Bocconi for Digital Public Administration Competition Award (B4DPA). The contest is promoted by Bocconi together with Diego Piacentini, the Digital Transformation Team and with Roberta Cocco, Alderman for Digital transformation of the City of Milan. The B4DPA, now in its second edition, asked groups of university students at all levels from Italian or foreign universities to imagine projects that could transform and innovate the Italian public administration.

Now, the next deadline is 28 February: within that date, in fact, the seven groups will have to finalize the projects to be presented to the commission, in view of the announcement of the winners, in March. The best idea will win a cash prize of 35 thousand euros for its development. The commission could also decide to reward a second group by granting its members free participation in one of the four modules of the next edition of the Master of Public Administration at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

Here are the names of the participants and the projects of the seven finalists:

Abilmente (Pietro Campanella, Carlos Miguel Ramos Cobo, Alessandro Fedel): a platform that facilitates relations between families with disabled people and public administration.

Block Waste (Francesco di Luzio, Sergio Sbrolli, Mario Carrato): uses blockchain to tackle the problem of waste disposal.

Eye-Scan - Registration for refugees in Italy (Alejandro Abad Godoy, Patricia Gutierrez, Jamee Brody): to make the process of registration of the refugees more streamlined and effective through the implementation of biometric registration.

FiscalAngel (Chiara Gilardi, Eufrasio Anghileri, Alberto Luigi Colombo): an app that monitors the fiscal behavior of restaurants and bars, thanks to the help of citizens.

Paride (Enrico Giannelli, Luca Zunino, Federico Puddu): creation of a bot within the app project to develop the digital team's public services.

Teresa (Biagio Deangelis, Francesco Zollo, Francesco Pisapia): a national e-learning platform for middle schools and high schools.

Vemini Biometric Systems (Edoardo Zorzetto, Nicolò Debenedetti, Antonio Consolo, Alberto Gallo): uses blockchain technology to create an archive of digital identities.
