, by Fabio Todesco
On June 30 and July 1, sustainability and digital transformation will be discussed at the annual conference of the Italian Society of Management chaired by Sandro Castaldo

Sustainability and digital transformation are among the hottest management research topics across the world and will be the focus of SIMA2022, the annual conference of the Italian Society of Management, at Bocconi University from June 30 to July 1, 2022, entitled Boosting Knowledge & Trust for a Sustainable Business.

SIMA, the scientific society of Italian business management academics, has 600 individual members and 70 universities. About 200 papers by at least 400 Italian and international authors will be presented at the conference. The Society, chaired by Sandro Castaldo, Professor of Management at Bocconi, has a strong international projection thanks to partnerships with the British Academy of Management and the European Academy of Management "A further projection, this year, will be represented by the presence, as keynote speaker, of Herman Aguinis, president of the Academy of Management, the U.S.-based association that gathers scholars from all over the world." The conference will be introduced by Gianmario Verona, Bocconi Rector and Chair of SIMA2022.

Alongside plenary and parallel sessions for the presentation of scientific papers, the program will also include a meeting with the editors of some prestigious international journals, chaired by Paola Cillo (Professor of Management at Bocconi), and a session on the evaluation of management research in collaboration with the International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management.

On the afternoon of Thursday 30, a special issue of SIMA's journal, Sinergie Italian Journal of Management, on "knowledge and trust in data-rich business environments," will be presented. "Some may have already noticed," says Professor Castaldo, "that the five guest editors of the issue (Giuseppe Bertoli, Sandro Castaldo, Paola Cillo, Gabriele Troilo, Gianmario Verona) are all students of Salvio Vicari who, in addition to being a professor at Bocconi, is also one of the co-founders of SIMA. He was a pioneer in the study of these topics and this special issue really owes him a lot."
