Federico Musso and Charlotte Wang have been selected for the prestigious Schwarzman Scholars master’s program in Beijing, from a pool of nearly 5,000 candidates, which will focus on leadership, global affairs and China’s evolving role in the world

Two Bocconi students, Federico Musso and Charlotte Wang, have been selected for the prestigious Schwarzman Scholars master’s program. The one-year program in global affairs is held at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University in Beijing, and is sponsored by the Schwarzman Foundation, created by Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Blackstone.

For this 10th edition of the program, Charlotte and Federico were selected from nearly 5,000 candidates who applied and will be part of the 150 students who will begin the program in August. The program curricula focuses on leadership, global affairs and China. Scholars are selected through a very competitive application process which finishes off with an interview with panels of CEOs, government leaders, and university presidents, among others.

“China is changing so rapidly and its dynamism intrigues me so I want to further my knowledge with another year here. And the opportunity to network and exchange views with 150 peers from all over the world is really unique,” says Federico, a BIEM student currently finishing his double degree at Peking University. “The program is a great opportunity for us to then foster dialogue between China and the rest of the world which would benefit all. I have opened the Chinese branch of an international student-run consultancy organization for non-profits and social enterprises and in the future would like to work on fostering opportunities and collaborations for Italian SMEs with China.”

“I really believe in fostering cross cultural exchange which took me to choose the World Bachelor in Business program and in some ways this is an extension of the WBB,” says Charlotte, student of the WBB, the program run by Bocconi, University of Southern California and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which sees students spend 4 years across Italy, USA and China. “I really believe in pushing my boundaries and the Schwarzman program focuses strongly on building global connections and collaboration and it will be an honour to participate.”
