Enviromental Policy And Related Management System
As evidence of Bocconi University’s focus on sustainable use of the resources needed to carry out its activities, the Environmental Policy was formally approved by the Rector and the Managing Director in July 2024. It is a document aimed at guiding the University's economic-professional investments and initiatives for environmental protection and green transition.
Specifically, the Policy – which can be consulted and downloaded below – defines the principles the University is committed to complying with, as well as the general improvement goals it intends to pursue regarding the main environmental areas: air, water, soil, energy, waste and mobility.
Bocconi encourages all its members (faculty, staff, students and alumni), as well as its institutional and commercial partners, to view and share this Policy.
Around the Policy the University has developed an Environmental Management System, as a reference framework for managing internal processes in order to improve its performance in this area – as well as to ensure full compliance with the related legislation. This is done by identifying the main impacts directly or indirectly produced on the surrounding environment and defining and pursuing goals aimed at preventing or mitigating them.
Environmental Management System – built in such a way as to be integrated with the Energy Management System in a synergistic manner (already active since 2016 and ISO 50001 certified since 2017) – will soon be submitted for certification according to the international ISO 14001 standard.
