A scholarship in memory of Francesco Daveri
In his time at Bocconi as a student, alumnus and, finally, professor, Francesco Daveri left a deep mark on the entire Bocconi community. In order to remember and honour the figure of Daveri, who passed away at the end of 2021, a fundraising initiative has been launched to cover a tuition waiver for the MBA at SDA Bocconi school of management, the master program of which he was Director from 2017 to 2021.

The scholarship will be in addition to the one already made available by SDA Bocconi last year in Daveri's memory, again for the MBA.
"Francesco meant a lot to us. It was an honour to have the opportunity to deal with he who was one of our country's most important economists. But Francesco was not only a passionate and attentive teacher, he wanted to be more: he wanted to be the MBA director not only of the class, but of each of us," recalled Ludovica Masiello, alumna of MBA43, Daveri's first MBA class, during the launch event for the fundraiser. "Many have described Francesco as the 'economist with a smile': for us students, he was not only a great economist with a vibrant intelligence, but also a person with great humanity, gentle leadership and the ability to listen."
Prior to the event, a plaque was also unveiled in memory of Daveri at what was his office on the campus at Via Sarfatti 10.
Daveri's three universities - Università degli studi di Parma, Bocconi and SDA Bocconi, and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza campus – have also promoted the publication of a book in his memory, 'L'economista con il sorriso', published digitally, free of charge, on the Egea website.
