In the new Talent Show podcast, created by FT and Bocconi, Gaia Rubera talks about the major trends in the sector today and the skills required

Gaia Rubera, Professor of Social Media Marketing at Bocconi University, is the next guest on the Talent Show podcast, a new series devised by Financial Times and Bocconi for the younger generation with analysis on trends and career advice in the most coveted sectors. Rubera talks about the major trends in marketing today, the use of social media and analytics, marketing tips for startuppers and the skills required to embark on a career in marketing.
The Talent Show podcast series features Bocconi professors and alumni analyzing the most important trends of the moment in various sectors - ranging from finance to entertainment, from the space economy to AI - to help young people understand the changes and challenges to be met and giving practical career advice.
Regards marketing tips for startuppers, "do research on your product and customers and then showcase your product, making the most also of social media," she says. "And think of yourself as a brand. In marketing today the concept of 'branded CEO' is very strong – in some companies the CEO is bigger than the brand."
