A Lesson with the Governor of the Bank of Italy
An extraordinary lecture awaits Bocconi students on Tuesday, November 19, at 11.00 AM, in the Franceschi Hall of the University. Fabio Panetta, Governor of the Bank of Italy, will discuss the economic situation and engage with students in a Q&A session. The event will be introduced by Francesco Billari, Rector of Bocconi University. Panetta will deliver a speech and answer questions from the audience.

Appointed Governor of the Bank of Italy on November 1, 2023, Panetta also serves as President of the Integrated Directorate of the Institute for the Supervision of Insurance (IVASS) and as a member of the Governing Council and General Council of the European Central Bank (ECB), the General Council of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the Steering Committee of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). He is also a member of the financial committees of the G7 and G20 groups. Additionally, he serves as Chair of the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the Cross-Border Payments Coordination Group of the Financial Stability Board.
His research has been published in international journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, European Economic Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, Economic Notes, Moneta e Credito, and Giornale degli Economisti.
