Filippo Annunziata Joins the Board of Appeal of European Agencies EBA, ESMA and EIOPA

The Board is tasked with ensuring the protection of the rights of parties affected by decisions taken by the three Authorities

Filippo Annunziata, (Bocconi Department of Legal Studies), has been appointed as a Member (Alternate Member) of the Board of Appeal of the three main European financial supervisory agencies: the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA).

The Board of Appeal is an independent body established to enable the review of decisions made by these authorities in crucial areas such as banking regulation, financial markets, and the insurance industry. Composed of high-profile experts, the Board helps ensure fairness and transparency in decision-making processes, consolidating the role of European institutions in overseeing and regulating the financial sector.

The Board of Appeal plays a crucial role in the governance system of the European Supervisory Authorities. It represents an independent body whose task is to ensure that decisions taken by the Authorities comply with European Union law and respect the principles of proportionality, transparency and non-discrimination.
