In the 2012 QS World University Ranking, Bocconi was placed 17th in the rankings for the best universities in the field of economics and 19th for finance and accounting

Bocconi's international reputation in the fields of economics and finance is improving. The school has moved up in the rankings and was placed among the top 20 universities worldwide in the World University Ranking 2012, published by QS, the international network dedicated to education and the professions. In the rankings dedicated to individual subjects, Bocconi placed 19th in the world in finance and accounting, moving up 7 spots over last year, and 17th for economics and econometrics, moving up 12 spots.

"These placements and improvements are an important acknowledgement of the work that has been done to continuously improve the already high standards in research and teaching at Bocconi," explains Fulvio Ortu, Vice Rector and Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi. "In particular, it's great to see that Bocconi placed 6th in Europe for finance and accounting and 4th for economics, where we were first among continental European schools."

Rankings are drawn up based on three criteria: academic reputation based on the opinion of academics from all over the world, reputation of the universities at businesses (based on the recruiter opinions from all over the world) and faculty citations.
