Bocconi's Embrace of the Communities Affected by the Earthquake

, by Barbara Orlando, translated by Jenna Walker
With a donation and a gathering on the 14th on the green of the new campus area, the Bocconi community is expressing its solidarity

Bocconi is making a donation and organizing a moment to get together to express support and solidarity to the populations affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, starting with the approximately 300 members of the Bocconi community from that area.

After moving to immediately support the students affected by this tragic event, the University has in fact decided to express its solidarity with two concrete actions. The first is a gift to support the fundraising project promoted by UNHCR and an invitation to the entire Bocconi community to support this initiative or participate in other similar initiatives. But solidarity also means support and symbolic acts that can reach people's hearts. This is why students, faculty and staff will gather together on Tuesday 14 February at 1pm on the green of the new campus area at Via Sarfatti 10 for an embrace in spirit.

"As has already happened on many other occasions," emphasize Francesco Billari and Riccardo Taranto, Rector and Managing Director of the University, "we are certain that once again the Bocconi community will make tangible the values of inclusion and participation, core values of our institution."
