Bocconi University Seeking 80 Artificial Intelligence Visionaries
This is a competition for visionary students who see artificial intelligence as something that is part of not only tomorrow, but also the here and now. Students who want to challenge themselves to imagine new solutions for applying AI in real life situations, helping to change the world. An initiative launched by Bocconi University with the main partnership of WMF and AI Festival, 'VisionnAIres – The AI generation' is for these kinds of students. The challenge is open to Italian Bachelor students who are passionate about AI-related topics, even if their program does not focus specifically on AI. Applications will be accepted until 20 December 2024 (more information and the application form).
The 80 students selected will compete on multidisciplinary teams to develop the best AI-based ideas on 25-28 February at Bocconi during the AI Festival 2025. They will also have free access to the Festival – that will be held on campus on 26-27 February – and will have the opportunity to network with professionals and other AI experts.
VisionnAIres represents an experience to delve into the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence: during the four-day event at Bocconi, the 80 participants will have the chance to attend masterclasses and meetings with professors, professionals, alumni and startups, thus discovering how AI is changing the world in many different fields, including health, social sciences, finance, marketing, economics and policymaking. In parallel with the intense training program, they will be divided into teams to work on their own innovative design idea that can be achieved through artificial intelligence. The awards ceremony for the winners of the challenge will be held on 28 February.
"In recent years, Bocconi University has chosen to invest considerably in the area of artificial intelligence," explains Rector Francesco Billari. "This is an investment that today is essential for a modern research university to develop research that is truly impactful for society, the economy and institutions. With VisionnAIres, we are also challenging students, bringing together 80 young minds and encouraging them to imagine a better world through artificial intelligence."
