Bocconi University opens new campus of SDA Bocconi School of Management in Rome
The new campus in Rome serves to be even closer to the entrepreneurial fabric and public and private institutions of central and southern Italy: today, with the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony held by Bocconi Rector Gianmario Verona and SDA Bocconi Dean Giuseppe Soda, the new SDA Bocconi School of Management campus was inaugurated in the capital.
The School's premises in Rome, whose activities started this week, will host a whole series of courses and initiatives: 3 Open Executive courses on the topics of business growth for SMEs, their management and project management (to which, in 2023, others on sustainability, finance and leadership will be added), custom program (tailored to organizations' needs), the Rome edition of the Executive MBA (Emba) in a weekend format, and "Scuola d'impresa per l'Italia", a three-year program developed together with Fincantieri and dedicated to 150 micro and small businesses in the Centre-South.
"With the opening of its School of Management in Rome, Università Bocconi wants to underline its desire to be in touch not only with its alumni, which in the capital has the largest community after Milan, but also its desire to be close to the economic, entrepreneurial and institutional fabric of the entire Centre-South. This opening reinforces Bocconi's strategy of increasingly being a partner for the development of our country, as demonstrated by our involvement in 4 different extended partnerships established thanks to PNRR," explains Bocconi Rector Gianmario Verona.
In particular, adds the Dean of SDA Bocconi Giuseppe Soda, "Our presence in Rome reflects the twofold objective of our School of Management to be a School with a global perspective, which competes in the international market, but also to be close to the community and its educational needs, as with the Scuola d'Impresa per l'Italia project. In addition, being even closer to central administrations means being able to contribute even more fruitfully to their development through dedicated projects such as those that are part of the SDA4GOV initiative, i.e. the project dedicated to the PA to support the far-reaching processes of change required by the PNRR, and that is necessary to revitalize the role and effectiveness of public administration as a lever for relaunching the entire domestic system'.
The hub, at 20 Via Antonio Nibby (in the Nomentano district), is the result of the redevelopment and digitization of Villa Morgagni, a building dating back to 1939. The building, completely renovated based on the project and concept design by Il Prisma, an international architecture and design company with Italian DNA, has four floors, one basement level and three above ground, and a total internal surface area of 2,450 square meters. In addition to the interior space, there are over one thousand square meters of garden.
The campus offers a fluid space, with fully configurable classrooms designed for hybrid teaching (in-presence and remote) and a project aimed at putting socialization at the forefront, inspired by three concepts: life, learning and beauty. This is how the new SDA Bocconi headquarters will be able to accommodate up to 260 participants per day in its eleven classrooms, which are divided into large and medium classrooms, and study rooms.
The opening day on the 12th October will be followed by an open house in the afternoon on the 13th to visit and learn about the School's activities, and finally an event entirely dedicated to the Bocconi Alumni Community of the Capital on the 14th.
