In addition to these achievements, Bocconi is ranked among the top 20 universities globally in Accounting & Finance (19th place) and Economics & Econometrics (17th place).

European Leadership

At the European level, Bocconi ranks as the 4th university in Social Sciences & Management, only behind three UK institutions: Oxford, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics. Within the European Union, Bocconi holds the top position in Accounting & Finance, Economics & Econometrics, and Marketing, while ranking second in Business & Management, just behind France’s INSEAD. This milestone is even more significant in today’s academic landscape, further demonstrating Bocconi’s influence beyond national borders.

Recognition for Teaching and Research Excellence

According to Francesco Billari, Rector of Bocconi University, these results highlight the institution’s ability to stand out in an increasingly competitive academic environment. “The prestigious placement in the QS ranking certifies the value of our research and teaching, as well as the high quality of education we provide to our students. Being recognized among the world’s top universities in the disciplines that define our identity encourages us to invest even further in innovation and internationalization.”

The QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates universities based on five key indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, scientific output, and international network. Bocconi scored particularly high in Academic Reputation (93.1) and Employer Reputation (85.4), reflecting the strong regard the university enjoys in both academic and professional circles.

Through a strategy that combines cutting-edge research, an international faculty, and an innovative educational offering, Bocconi continues to strengthen its position among the world’s top universities for economics and management studies, attracting talent from around the globe and reinforcing its role as an international hub for education and research.
