Behind the scenes of Finance

Davide Serra, Bocconi Alumnus and founder and CEO of Algebris Investments, is the guest of the first Talent Show podcast, a new series devised by Financial Times and Bocconi for the younger generation with analysis on trends and career advice in the most coveted sectors. Davide Serra talks about breaking into the world of finance, what happens behind-the-scenes in the sector and new trends such as ESG and cryptocurrencies.
The Talent Show podcast series features Bocconi professors and alumni analyzing the most important trends of the moment in various sectors - ranging from finance to entertainment, from the space economy to AI - to help young people understand the changes and challenges to be met and giving practical career advice.
"In the same way my father advised me, I advise students that to understand economics you have to understand what is happening in the world today, the current geopolitics and how society is operating," says Serra. "And read history – it will help you predict what will happen, like Covid repeating what had happened with the Plague."
