LSAT

The LSAT is a standardized test administered by the Law School Admission Council and is used by American and Canadian universities as an admissions requirement for law schools.

It is designed to assess reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, and logical reasoning.

The test is divided into two parts.

Part One: Multiple-Choice Questions This part consists of the following sections:

  • Reading Comprehension: Measures the ability to read and understand complex and lengthy materials similar to those encountered in legal studies. This section consists of 26-28 questions.
  • Analytical Reasoning: Measures the ability to understand a structure of relationships and draw conclusions about that structure. This section consists of 24-26 questions.
  • Logical Reasoning: Assesses the ability to analyze, critically evaluate, and complete arguments. This section consists of 22-24 questions.
  • Experimental: An unscored section that includes a question from the previous sections and can appear at any point in the test.

Part Two: LSAT Writing This part involves writing a paper. It presents a decision-making problem that requires the test-taker to choose between two positions or courses of action and defend their choice. This section is designed to demonstrate persuasive writing skills.

The total score ranges from 120 to 180. The LSAT Writing section is not scored and does not contribute to the final score.

Each section of the test is allotted 35 minutes for completion.

For selection purposes, applications with a test score below 147 out of 180 will not be considered.
