What's News in Via Sarfatti 25

, by Barbara Orlando
The new issue introduces Story Scanner, the new series of Bocconi podcasts, and the possibility to read the magazine online in both English and Italian. The cover story is on the datadriven economy

A new series of podcasts, Story Scanner, and a new feature to read the contents also in Italian. These are the innovations of Via Sarfatti 25, the Bocconi magazine, which dedicates the cover story of the third issue of the year and the first episode of Story Scanner to the data-driven economy and to one of the most precious assets of our time: data. Torben Pedersen, Professor of Global strategy helps us understand how Data-Driven Innovation (which is also the title of the book he co-authored with Michael Moesgaard Andersen - Routledge, 2021) is the key to future business success and gives some advice on how to create a data-driven innovation strategy. Gaia Rubera, Head of the Department of Marketing and Amplifon chair in Customer Science, talks about how Big Data has evolved in recent years, to the point where it is considered the 'new oil', and how companies can gain a competitive advantage from its use. Finally, Gabriele Troilo, Associate Professor of Marketing at Bocconi and Associate Dean for the Online Learning Division of SDA Bocconi School of management, discusses how to make investments in Big Data pay off and gives some insights for managers on how to reap the benefits of such investments. The cover story is completed by in-depth articles by Emanuele Borgonovo, Arnaldo Camuffo, Francesco Grossetti, Andreina Mandelli, Oreste Pollicino and an interview with Giuseppe Vironda, Bocconi alumnus and Chief Marketing Officer of Amplifon.

The protagonists of this issue are also 10 alumni donors who, together with Bruno Busacca, Dean of Fundraising and Alumni Engagement, tell us what it means to invest in education and research and the spirit of inclusion and the strive for merit that guided the fundraising campaign 'Within our reach'.

But the third issue of Via Sarfatti 25, which is now available in both English and Italian thanks to the new reading feature, is also much more thanks to the contribution of 31 professors and 19 alumni.
Enjoy reading.
