Simone Cerreia Vioglio is one of the newly elected Fellows of Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory

Simone Cerreia Vioglio, Full Professor at Bocconi's Department of Decision Sciences, was elected as Economic Theory Fellow by the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET).

New Economic Theory Fellows are chosen by a 21-member committee chaired by Eddie Dekel (Northwestern University). According to SAET's website, the Fellows "are selected for their scientific excellence, originality, and leadership; high ethical standards; and scholarly and creative achievement. The contributions of fellows may exist in many areas of theoretical economics, including pure and applied research, and government service. The primary qualification for fellowship is to have substantially advanced economic theory. This achievement may be evidenced by an outstanding publication record; strong editorial board service; honorary, scientific, educational and professional achievements, or through the training of graduate students."

SAET is an international society whose purpose is to advance knowledge in theoretical economics and to facilitate communication among researchers in economics, mathematics, game theory, or any other field that is potentially useful to economic theory.

Among the Economic Theory Fellows, who have been elected in the previous years, there are several Full Professors of Bocconi's Department of Decision Sciences, including Pierpaolo Battigalli, Fabio Maccheroni, Massimo Marinacci, and Fernando Vega-Redondo.
