SDA Bocconi: Sixth Place in the World for the MBA Program
Return on investment, salary increase, international experience, a context attentive to enhancing diversity, and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability that led to a new campus built for zero carbon emissions. These are the five indicators that brought the MBA, the master in business administration, of SDA Bocconi School of Management to itds highest ranking ever, surpassing some of the most established schools in the world. For the first time it moved into the world top ten, jumping directly to sixth position, and onto the European podium at third.
"It is the most difficult ranking, which was born in the oldest tradition of American business schools" says Stefano Caselli, Dean of SDA Bocconi "for this reason the sixth position is a result of great prestige but it is above all the demonstration of the strength of our School. An open and inclusive place, international, capable of attracting and transforming talents from all over the world to have an impact on society."
The MBA, the flagship of SDA Bocconi since its first edition in 1974, is an international program with a network of over 30 partner schools worldwide, taught in English since 1991, with 72% of its students coming from outside Italy – from over 30 countries and with widely varying backgrounds. The program, designed to offer a 360-degree view of business organizations, with a strong focus on digital, sustainability and the macroeconomic context, is a game changer in the careers of its graduates: 90% have changed at least one country, sector or function. The MBA is therefore a real career accelerator and SDA Bocconi's enters the European top three because of three main indicators: salary (i.e. the increase in salary three years after graduation and the increase compared to the pre-MBA salary equal to + 124%), the return on investment and the support offered by the career service according to the judgment of the participants who graduated three years ago.
"The challenge now is to consolidate our position by achieving three goals," comments Stefano Pogutz, MBA Director and Professor of Corporate Sustainability. "Innovate, aiming to develop new skills in line with the growing complexity of the managerial world; expand our visibility and presence in the international labor market; further differentiate ourselves from other schools, leveraging the distinctive characteristics of our MBA: the size, the level of diversity, the drive to enhance the individual purpose and the push towards social impact."
The 48th edition is currently in progress, and applications for admission to academic year 2023/24 close on April 20: 35 scholarships are available to the 100 students who will be admitted.
