Orientation Days Welcome All FirstYears

, by Davide Ripamonti
5,000 new students from Italy and abroad will be participating Welcome Days: activities inperson and online through 7 September to learn about everything the University has to offer, in terms of teaching, services and extracurricular activities

A year later, the same methods but a lot more experience. Welcome Days is back at Bocconi University through 7 September (the full schedule is available here). The University's traditional orientation event is for the approximately 5,000 Italian and international first-year students who are preparing to begin their new adventure at one of the three Bocconi Schools: the Undergraduate School, the Graduate School or the School of Law. And it will be held with all the precautions, considerations and restrictions already in place last year, plus the new Green Pass. But, even with the many challenges still imposed by the situation, the upcoming academic year is a record year due to the number of applications that have been submitted.

The event's activities are available both in person (upon registration and with limited access) and online, during which freshers will be able to get to know each other and learn more about programs, educational activities, services and the many extracurricular opportunities offered at the University. These range from sports, both competitive and amateur, to the world of student associations, a rich and diverse microcosm that encompasses a wide variety of topics.

Students will be welcomed by Rector Gianmario Verona and the Deans of the three Schools, Annalisa Prencipe (Undergraduate School, 31 August), Antonella Carù (Graduate School, 7 September) and Pietro Sirena (School of Law, 6 September), along with the heads of the various services supporting students during their university careers.
"We are very happy to be able to welcome first-year students, but also those who were already attending our university, back on campus, to see each other in person and to be able to interact directly despite all the precautions that the situation still forces us to observe. Being on campus and interacting with classmates and professors is one of the best parts of the university experience," says Rector Verona. "But as a University, we are proud we can also be there for anyone who is unable to come to Milan, thanks to the support of digital technologies. This is a big step towards inclusiveness, one of Bocconi University's key values."
