Michel Barnier at the Launch of the LSE Bocconi Double Degree in European and International Public Policy and Politics
Michel Barnier, the European Commission's Chief Negotiator on Brexit, intervened today with a video speech during the 'Europe After Brexit. Shaping a New Era' organized on the occasion of the launch of the new LSE-Bocconi Double Degree in European and International Public Policy and Politics, which brings together the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Bocconi University. Mario Monti, Bocconi President, and Minouche Shafik, LSE Director, participated in the debate.
Starting from academic year 2019-2020, the double degree will target talented students, who will have the chance to obtain two distinct degrees after their 2-year studies: the Bocconi MSc in Politics and Policy Analysis and the LSE Master of Science in European and International Public Policy.
The double degree combines the different and complementary competences of LSE and Bocconi, with a focus on quantitative methods and policy evaluation in the first year at Bocconi and on a critical and multidisciplinary analysis of current governance issues in the second year at LSE.

"We are delighted to launch the Double Degree program between LSE and Bocconi University. The combination of expert teaching from both institutions across the social sciences will give students a global perspective on the many challenges confronting Europe and its neighbours, " says Minouche Shafik, Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
«Now more than ever, politics and governance are transnational topics, to be tackled combining different expertise and angles, and the European Union is undisputably the most important experience of transnational governance of our times», Bocconi Rector, Gianmario Verona, says. «We are happy to trigger this cooperation with one of the schools with the best reputation in the world».
