The Bocconi professor chosen for his experience in the field of financial market law and for his international profile

Marco Ventoruzzo, Full Professor of Commercial Law and Head of the Department of Legal Studies at Bocconi University, is the new president of Assosim, the association that brings together 80 banks, securities brokerage companies and Italian branches of foreign intermediaries. Assosim is active on the primary and secondary markets, and on the derivatives market, with a share of more than 80% of the entire volume traded on regulated markets.

"The objectives of the association are diverse," explains Ventoruzzo. "First of all, to follow regulatory and industrial evolution and give its members useful information for the performance of their business. Then there is the part dedicated to the dissemination of financial culture through training and seminars aimed at members but not exclusively. Finally, very important, the association must have a dialogue with institutions, both national and, increasingly, European."

This, the international factor, is one of the reasons that led to the choice of Ventoruzzo, given his academic experience in several prestigious international universities. Then there is another aspect, linked to the professional profile of Marco Ventoruzzo: "The fact that a lawyer has been chosen is not unusual," he specifies, "but I hope that my specific skills will also be useful to try to clarify the regulations that are sometimes excessively complex and often represent a brake for the entire system."
