Recent hire of Bocconi's Department of Economics

Marco Ottaviani joins Bocconi's Department of Economics in the academic year 2011-2012 as full professor. He comes from Kellogg School of Management, where he was professor of management and strategy. Previously, he had taught economics at London Business School and University College London.

A graduate of Università Bocconi, he gained a PhD at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

His research on information aggregation in markets and organizations spans fields such as industrial organization, organization economics, and financial economics and has been published in a number of leading academic journals.

He is currently working on the development of prediction markets to improve corporate and public decision-making, the provision of incentives for information intermediaries, and the rationale for government policies intended at mandating information disclosure and protecting consumers.
