Life as a startupper
Nico Valenti Gatto, Operating Director of B4i - Bocconi for innovation, the Bocconi University hub which offers selected startups pre-acceleration and acceleration programs, is the next guest on the Talent Show podcast, a new series devised by Financial Times and Bocconi for the younger generation with analysis on trends and career advice in the most coveted sectors. He talks about creating and financing a startup, the important traits for an entrepreneur and the startup scene around Europe.
The Talent Show podcast series features Bocconi professors and alumni analyzing the most important trends of the moment in various sectors - ranging from finance to entertainment, from the space economy to AI - to help young people understand the changes and challenges to be met and giving practical career advice.
"To be a good entrepreneur you need to be obsessed with execution and driven by tasks and getting them done. And you need to be good at 'selling' your business – bringing people on board, and join your team, and convincing people to invest," says Valenti Gatto. "It is also important to be self-aware, knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and to be factual, so that what you say and ask for is based on facts."
