Jonghwan Kim, a New Entry to the Department of Accounting
From September 2013 Jonghwan 'Simon' Kim enters the Department of Accounting as an Assistant Professor.
After graduating in Business Administration at Yonsei University in Seoul and two years at an Internet start-up, Kim attended KAIST Graduate School of Management for an MBA. Then he worked for Samsung Electronics as an accountant and financial ERP specialist from 2003 to 2007 until he moved to Los Angeles to follow the USC's accounting PhD program.
His scholarly interests include performance measurement, incentives for white collar workers, and the roles of relationships and trust in management control systems. Among his current working papers, a collaborative work with Professor Kenneth Merchant and other scholars has been acknowledged as the Best Paper at Performance Management Association Conference 2012 hosted by the University of Cambridge.
