Gianfranco Siciliano, a Polyglot for the Department of Accounting
Gianfranco Siciliano is the new assistant professor at the Department of Accounting for the academic year 2012-2013. He comes from Duke University, where he taught Financial Accounting to MBA students.
Siciliano obtained his degree and PhD in Business Administration from Università di Parma. In 2007 he received a fellowship from Duke University, where he obtained a Master of Arts in Economics (2010) and a PhD in Accounting (2012), with a dissertation on the effects of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adoption. Previously he was visiting scholar at University of Georgia and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Besides English, Siciliano fluently speaks French, Spanish and Dutch; he has a conversational knowledge of Portuguese and he knows the basics of Chinese.
