Davide Serra, Founder and CEO of Algebris Investments, talks to Rector Gianmario Verona in the latest Executive Chat episode

"ESG are fundamental good corporate governance values and equality way of running a company," highlights Davide Serra, founder and CEO of Algebris Investments and Bocconi alumnus, in a conversation in the Executive Chats series with Rector Gianmario Verona.
"And the most important element of ESG in the short-term is the E, the environment," he adds. "It is not a question of economics or values but a game-changer for the Planet and our lives."
Together with ESG, another major trend in the Finance sector is cryptocurrencies. "I am completely bearish about cryptocurrencies. People should not invest their wealth in them," says Serra. "But the technology behind it could be useful – for creating, for example, proper digital currencies, such as the digital Euro."
Regards to the best approach to Finance, "many people misunderstand the concept of investing with that of trading. You need to invest capital with patience and a long-term view," he warns. "It is better to use the old school of thought of Finance based on clear, simple numbers."
