Five hundred strong, young and competitive: the identikit of Bocconi alumni in China
They will be meeting on 10 and 11 March in Shanghai for the fourth Global Conference of the Bocconi Alumni Association. We are talking about the more than 500 alumni of Bocconi University who live and work in China. It's a rather young group - 36% are aged between 20 and 30 years and 42% between 30 and 40 - and predominantly male (58%), but rather heterogeneous from the point of view of origins. Italians make up 56%, but there are many alumni who come from mainland China and Hong Kong (35% of the total) or other countries (9%).
Despite the young average age, nearly half of the Bocconi Alumni (216) have reached managerial level or higher positions, 89 hold positions of top management (presidents, CEO, managing director, general secretaries). Among the top managers, 84% are Italian and 16% Chinese (while 66% among the Italians hold managerial positions and 34% of the Chinese).
Representing Bocconi University alumni in Chinese territory there are three official groups (chapters) of the Bocconi Alumni Association: in Shanghai to lead the team is Mirko Bordiga, Maserati China general manager, while the Beijing chapter leader is Sarah Orlando, general manager of Rizzoli China. The leadership and organization of the Hong Kong Group is entrusted to Stefano Passarello, founder of the consulting firm P & P Limited.
Five hundred faces and five hundred different stories: viaSarfatti25 has collected 10 to tell, through the words of the protagonists themselves, about the experience of living and working in China. Read below the ten stories.
