Destination Milan
Arriving at the end of January, they spent two intense first weeks between Italian courses and sessions to break the ice with Bocconi, their university for this semester that has just begun, and Milan, a city many are visiting for the first time. They are the 730 bachelor and MSc exchange students from over 280 partner schools dotted all around the world.
"It is great for our University to welcome so many exchange students on campus. Being at Bocconi is not only enriching for the exchange students themselves, but also for everyone here on campus. Our students, but also our faculty and staff, look forward to meeting students from all over the world, and learning about their experiences and perspectives", comments Catherine De Vries, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi.
"I wanted to learn more about fashion management and Bocconi is among the best for this. And Milan is in a great location at the centre of Europe, to travel around," says Kaly Long, from the Western University in Canada. "Milan seems to be a great mix of modern and historic, with lots of culture. And the Bocconi campus is beautiful and the people very friendly."
"Bocconi has a great reputation as a business school," says Jack Weitman, incoming from USC in Los Angeles. "Milan is a modern city and a great place to study business. And Bocconi has been very welcoming and there seems to be a great community spirit."
At the same, more than 860 Bocconi students have headed out to universities all around the world for their exchange experience. While the new incoming students follow the 922 students that Bocconi hosted in the first semester. The exchange experience is an important part of the students' curriculum as well as an opportunity to get to know a different country and its academic system.
