Clad in Orange, Bocconi Tackles Violence Against Women

, by Andrea Celauro, translated by Rosa Palmieri
On 25 November, in honor of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the University will illuminate its buildings and join the ‘Orange the World’ United Nations campaign

Orange is the international color of the fight against gender-based violence. The Bocconi University campus will therefore be lit up in orange to underline the University's adherence to the 'Orange the World' United Nations campaign in tackling violence against women. The campaign is promoted in Italy by UN Women Italy, the UN Women committee for gender equality and women empowerment.

“On 25 November, in honor of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the University will light up in orange to bring attention to an unfortunately, extremely ever-present topic,” highlights Paola Profeta, Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability at Bocconi University. “The University is actively engaged in numerous initiatives to promote gender equality and inclusion, in addition to combatting all forms of discrimination. Building a university based on the values of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity is indeed a strategic goal for Bocconi.”

The recently published Gender Report, the first of its kind, is among the numerous diversity and inclusion initiatives put forth by the University, which can be viewed here.
