Bocconi University and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation to Collaborate on Sustainability

The two institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Bocconi University and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that opens the door to collaboration between the two institutions. Bocconi University, specifically the GREEN Centre and the Observatory on Procurement and Sustainability, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation will work on joint projects concerning sustainability and environmental protection issues, as well as raising public awareness of these matters.

The agreement was signed by Olivier Wenden, CEO of the Foundation, Marco Colasanti, President of the Foundation in Italy, and Riccardo Taranto, Managing Director of Bocconi.Also present at the signing were Fabrizio Fracchia, Full Professor of Administrative Law and Director of the Observatory on Procurement and Sustainability, Miriam Allena, Associate Professor of Environmental Law and Member of the Executive Committee of the Observatory on Public Procurement and Sustainability, Marco Percoco, Director of GREEN, and Gianni Alberto Caimi.

"This is an important opportunity for the two institutions to collaborate and leverage their synergies on the fundamental issue of environmental protection and sustainability," says Professor Allena. "Moreover, these are issues on which our students show great awareness and interest."

"It is a privilege for us to be able to interact with a university like Bocconi to identify environmental protection initiatives and projects to support and promote together," says Marco Colasanti, "Now more than ever it is essential to join forces to protect the life and health of our planet."

Since June 2006, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has brought together scientists, political leaders and economic and civil society stakeholders to protect the environment and promote sustainable development locally and globally. Safeguarding endangered animal species, improving the living conditions of rural communities, and proposing new ethical and sustainable solutions are just some of the Foundation's achievements to date.
