Bocconi to Host the Review of Accounting Studies Conference

, by Sasson Bar-Yosef
A highly competitive call for the six papers to be presented is open

On November 18th and 19th, the Department of Accounting at Università Bocconi will host the Review of Accounting Studies (RAST) Annual Conference. The conference, which benefits from the primary sponsorship of Ernst &Young, puts both the University and the Accounting Department at the center of accounting academic activities' map in the world.

Sasson Bar-Yosef, full professor of accounting, heads the coordination of the roles and the conference activities of the Accounting Department with RAST, with the help of other members of the Department. He can be contacted (sasson.baryosef@unibocconi.it) for any further information.

The RAST is among the very best journals in accounting. Like the other two top of the line journals (Journal of Accounting Research and Journal of Accounting and Economics), RAST holds an annual (by invitation only) conference, which is limited to the leading academics in the accounting research areas. While the other two journals' conferences are held at fixed places (e.g., University of Chicago, University of Rochester and Kellogg School), the RAST annual conference rotates among various leading universities. This is only the third time that this conference is held in a European university.

The title of this year conference is "Current Issues in Accounting Research", and is open to a variety of topics and research approaches. The selection of the six papers that will be presented at the conference is highly competitive. After a thorough blind review process, the selected papers will be published in the RAST. The deadline for submission is May 20, 2011. The details and the call for papers may be found on the following site:
