, by Fabio Todesco
The award was assigned by the vote of the participants

Annalisa Prencipe (Department of Accounting) was voted best discussant by the participants at the Review of Accounting Studies (RAST) Annual Conference, hosted by Università Bocconi's Department of Accounting, with the primary sponsorship of Ernst & Young, on 18th and 19th of November. She thus received the Best Discussant Award financed by Morgan Stanley.

Prencipe discussed the paper Where Do Firms Manage Earnings?, by Scott Dyreng (Duke University), Michelle Hanlon (MIT Sloan School of Management) and Edward L. Maydew (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), regarding the geographic location of earnings management within multinational firms.

"This is an important achievement for the Department of Accounting and for Università Bocconi", Sasson Bar-Yosef, full professor of accounting at Bocconi and local organizer of the RAST Conference, says, "on top of having hosted the RAST Conference, something which put Università Bocconi at the very centre of European accounting studies".

The RAST Conference is one of the most selective and prestigious events for the international community of accounting scholars. The six papers which were presented in Milan will be published by the Review, and are the result of a selection out of 125 papers.
