Milan is the next destination of the new Full Professor of the Department of Management and Technology

How do informal networks, established inside and outside organizations, facilitate not only the development of new knowledge but also innovation? This is the research field of Marco Tortoriello, Bocconi alumnus (he graduated, summa cum laude, in Business Administration in 1999) who, staring from September, will be a new Full Professor of the Department of Management and Technology.

An Assistant Professor of the Department of strategy of the Écoles des Hautes Études Commerciales until 2009, and an Associate Professor at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa – IESE Business School afterwards, in the academic year 2015-2015 Tortoriello will be teaching undergraduate and graduate competitive strategy courses, alongside strategy implementation, change management and social network courses in the executive programmes of SDA Bocconi School of Management.

A member of the editorial board of Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science and Academy of Management Review, Tortoriello has developed studies on informal networking and knowledge management for companies such as STMicroelectronics and Henkel, and is eager to start working at the Department, "whose scientific contribution has been particularly significant on an international level over the last years", he says.
