If you study in the United States for any part of your course, you will not be able to receive US Federal Loans through Bocconi. Please also note that if you take part in an internship in the United States, an exchange program or a free mover experience in the United States, you will not be able to receive US Federal Loans through Bocconi, except that it may permit students to complete up to 25 percent of the program by:

  1. Enrolling in the coursework, research, work, or special studies offered by an eligible institution in the United States; or
  2. Participating in an internship or externship provided by an ineligible organization as described in 34 CFR 668.5(h)(2);

Please also consider that if your program foresees an internship, an exchange program, a double degree or a free mover experience lasting more than 25 percent of the program duration in a foreign university, you will be allowed to receive US Federal Loans through Bocconi only if the partner university is Title IV eligible, hence is included in the list you can find on the FSA official website here. Bocconi must determine the amount of Title IV program assistance that students earn if they withdraw from school. The Bocconi Funding Office (Student Division Desk: Fees, Funding and Housing) is responsible for calculating R2T4 and the Administration & Finance function is responsible to actually transfer the funds. The Bocconi Funding Office uses worksheets provided by the US Department of Education to calculate the R2T4 funds. The Bocconi Funding Office informs the student who has decided to withdraw, the amount to be returned.

Should a student receiving Title IV Federal Student Aid Funds cease to be enrolled prior to the end of a payment period, the US Department of Education requires the University to complete a Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculation and arrange for any 'unearned' loan funds to be returned to the US Department of Education.

The amount of Title IV loan fund that has been earned is calculated using a formula provided by the US Department of Education, available
here

For purposes of making the calculation, the University will use the dates of withdrawal/last date of attendance as recorded on the University’s Student Record System.

The amount of assistance earned is determined on a pro rata basis:

  • Once a student has completed more than 60% of the payment period, a student has earned 100% of the Title IV funds he or she was scheduled to receive during the period.
  • Should a student complete 60% or less of the payment period, a pro rata schedule is used to determine the amount of Title IV funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal, however, the University must determine whether the student is eligible for a post-withdrawal disbursement.

This policy will also be used when calculating the return of funds to the US Department of Education for reasons other than withdrawal/leave of absence. The policy will be applied when a student completes or graduates earlier than anticipated or when a student becomes ineligible for Title IV Federal Student Aid Funds at the University of Nottingham following changes to their enrolment or other factors.

Procedures for transferring, withdrawing from or interrupting a program of study are detailed in the Guide to University.

Bocconi’s MOG (ORGANIZATION, MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL MODEL) inlcudes detailed procedures regarding information security program.

The components of the preventive control system adopted by the University to ensure the effectiveness of the model, in compliance with current practice, include but are not limited to:

  • Manual and IT procedures (information systems) that regulate the carrying out of work, providing for appropriate control points. A specific effective preventive measure is the control tool represented by the separation of duties among those who undertake crucial stages (activities) of a process at risk.
  • Control  and  management  system  capable  of  providing  prompt  notification  of  the  existence  and  the arising of general and/or specific critical situations. This requires the setting of appropriate indicators for individual types of risks and internal risk assessment processes for the individual corporate functions.

The School has procedures to ensure that it does not misrepresents the nature of its educational programs, the nature of financial charges, the employability of graduates.

Model 231 is a set of principles, provisions and operative procedures that affect the internal functioning of the University as well as the conduct of its external relations.

Italian Law 231/2001 introduced the administrative responsibility requirement, stating that organizations may be held liable for certain crimes of fraud, committed or attempted, by members of senior management and by those working under the direction or supervision of members of senior management.

To comply with Italian law, Università Commerciale L. Bocconi has included their organization, management and control model in the new Model 231.

In order to prevent the risk of committing any crimes cited in the regulations, all faculty and staff personnel as well as by all other subjects who are involved with these parties (clients, students, suppliers, partners, collaborators, etc.) must respect principles and precepts set by the Model 231.
